Wow!!! God has been working on me! I have been at Kilgo since July of 2008 and God has used Kilgo, the Plaza-Midwood Neighborhood, and many others to transform and build the “Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.” I have been in Pastoral ministry for about 10 years and received my Master’s of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
The basics…
-
I believe God is Love
-
We are told first to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12)
-
Second we are to love our neighbor as we do ourselves. (Even harder… We love ourselves a lot!!!)
-
To fully love God all you do is for God, not out of obligation, but love. Just like you do for your partner, spouse, parents, children, and friends, you put God in the place before these and let God guide all that you do. It’s not easy and not always comfortable, but its amazing what happens, the joy, the peace, the roller coaster when you do.
-
Loving people – always forgive, you may not forget (wisdom), but always forgive.
-
Help even when you think you can’t.
-
Give – you can’t out give God.
God Loves Everyone!!! God created everyone in the image of God. God wants to be in relationship with you! Yes, even you… No matter who you are, where you have been, what you have done, what you have said, how you have treated or been treated. God loves you forever!!!
God wants you to be in relationship! God wants you to trust God so much and give yourself to the relationship like you would with any loved one or lover. Intimacy, your deepest darkest places, your hopes and dreams and all that you desire should and are made known to God. Trust God in helping, guiding and leading you down your path or maybe a new one.
I have no idea where God is leading me. I know God brought me to Kilgo with my wife Carroll, my four children, and a dream. A dream for Kilgo to be the hands and feet of Jesus here and everywhere God sends us. Kilgo should be the heart of the community if we are living for God.
People have responded in amazing ways to ministry and outreach that God has brought to our little church. I pray that we continue to listen and follow and fully rely on God for our guidance and direction. We will continue to do all we can to help all people in need. Our goal is to live like Jesus, for Jesus, so that the world will find His love, His healing, His hope, His promise, His forgiveness, and His eternal life.
Come visit us and see what God is doing!
In Christ,
Pastor Mike
